Kia Ora Welcome!

As conference convenor I am excited to announce the SESOC 2023 Conference and I welcome your attendance at what will be an outstanding event.

The theme of this year's conference is “Celebrating Structural Engineering”, and we have designed a programme to enable you to meet with fellow professionals and to engage in stimulating interactive debate on issues that matter to you.

The conference will be of interest to graduate and experienced engineers alike, with several streams running concurrently including an emerging structural engineer’s programme, providing choice and variety.
The conference will bring together professionals from a broad range of disciplines, including architecture, business, public policy, emergency response planning, regulation, and the legal profession. In addition to presentations from authors of submitted papers, we have a wonderful line up of invited speakers who will be sharing their experiences and perspectives on structural engineering.

On each day of the conference there will be a plenary session, where all of the delegates will be invited to participate in stimulating debate on matters pertinent to the structural engineering profession.
In addition to the plenary sessions there will also be a unique and entertaining quick fire “challenge session”, where multiple presenters and participants have five minutes to present their innovation, idea or point of view.

This will be the Seventh New Zealand National conference hosted by SESOC and will be of particular interest to emerging professionals and senior engineers alike, with several streams running concurrently providing choice and variety of content.
SESOC looks forward to welcoming you to Christchurch in June 2023, and your participation in what promises to be an outstanding event.
