Ann is a highly experienced educator, mentor, writer, and researcher who promotes developing a learning approach centred on students\u2019 cultural identities, educating M\u0101ori students \u201cas M\u0101ori\u201d, \u201cas\u201d who they are first.<\/p>\n<p>Ann led the ground-breaking work at Auckland\u2019s Kia Aroha College over an almost 30- year journey to challenge notions of \u201cunder-achievement\u201d and to transform the educational experiences of M\u0101ori and Pasifika learners. Ann\u2019s education consultancy work has a spe\u00adcific focus on this critical, culturally sustaining pedagogy and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Ann has published in academic journals and books and is in demand nationally and inter\u00adnationally as a speaker and workshop facilitator. Her book, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.annmilne.co.nz\/buy-my-book\/\">Colouring in the White Spaces: Reclaiming Cultural Identity in Whitestream Schools<\/a><\/em>, based on her doctoral research, was published in 2016.
