'Delivering a Net Zero Carbon Energy Future'

Kia ora koutou,

Aotearoa New Zealand has committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2050 and an electric future is critical to achieving this target. We are at the start of an exciting and visionary journey, reliant upon innovation and collaboration so EEA2023 is continuing the conversation on the role of engineering in ‘Delivering a Net Zero Carbon Energy Future’!

Engineering is front and centre of the net zero challenge as we transition to sustainable, resilient infrastructure and customer-led energy solutions to stimulate economic development and innovation.

New ideas, greater creativity, and different perspectives are critical to designing and integrating the technologies required to capture and store or use carbon, increase shares of renewable energy, convert energy carriers, and generate more commercial use of renewable and clean fuels.

Homes and workplaces will need to adopt smart technologies, including Distributed Energy Resources, solar photovoltaics, smart appliances, and Energy Storage Systems.

In order to enable change, understand future trends, and work with our customers to deliver safer, sustainable, efficient, affordable and reliable energy services, we need to collaborate with others to grow our collective knowledge and understanding of new and emerging technology, drive innovation, and understand the risks. Only then can we deliver on climate change targets.

Thought leaders and engineering experts will be coming together from across the energy industry to focus on delivering clarity around these complex issues and together, we will continue brainstorming solutions and ways of implementing these to achieve our 2050 climate change targets.

EEA2023 will also include a comprehensive Technology Exhibition providing a great opportunity for businesses from around the world and New Zealand to showcase technology, services, people, and products, and for attendees to get ‘hands-on’ with the solutions you need. The Exhibition also provides excellent networking opportunities which is especially important in this time of change.

There is no better event than the EEA2023 Conference to grow your knowledge and understanding of the future of our industry. As the power industry’s largest collaborative forum in New Zealand, EEA2023 serves to invigorate and grow our industry capability and empower the next generation of engineering leaders, innovators, influencers, and change-makers to deliver Aotearoa’s decarbonised future.

As interested, curious, and enthusiastic members of the electricity supply community you simply cannot miss it!

There is lots more to come so follow us on our LinkedIn page for updates.

Noho ora mai.
