Site Tours

The EEA is offering the opportunity to attend one of two pre-conference site tours located within the Wellington region. These site visits will be held from 1.00pm - 4.00pm on Monday 2 August.ย  If you would like to book a place on one of the tours please do so via the conference registration form.ย ย If you have already registered and would like to go on one of the tours, you will receive an email soon with details on how to sign up.

Please note that numbers are limited so it is recommended that you book early to avoid disappointment. Due to the sensitive nature of intellectual and/or production technology, EEA and the Conference Organiser have the right to refuse individual registrations to the Site Tours if from a competing company.

 

eNZoil

Visit New Zealandโ€™s leading transformer oil regeneration facility.

eNZoil takes used and Corrosive Sulphur contaminated transformer oil and returns 92% of it back to the transformer industry, meeting or exceeding IEC 60296 specifications.

eNZoil will demonstrate how to reduce carbon emissions by minimising oil imports and preventing release of used oil to the environment.

eNZoil offers a site tour including the production facility and laboratory to demonstrate how used oil is repurified into the next generation of Corrosive Sulphur free transformer oil.

No PPE will be required for this visit.

Robinson Research Facilities

Robinson Research is a 30-researcher, applied science and engineering research institute, in the fields of Electromagnetic and Superconducting Technologies. Robinson is currently conducting a number of projects relevant to the Electricity Engineers Association.

During your visit to the Robinson Research Facilities you will have the opportunity to see the MRI Lab, Buckley Test Hall (where you will see Electrification of Transport and Fastest Machines projects), Overhead Power Lines Physical Simulation and Fault Test Facility (where you will see our non-contact fault sensing and detection project), and our NDT Development Lab (where you will see development of our NDT tool for assessment of corrosion in steel reinforced power poles).

No PPE will be required for this visit.
