Biography
Dr Bruce Searle is a Senior Scientist in the Field Crops Group at Plant and Food Research based in Hawkes Bay. He obtained his PhD in Crop Physiology from Lincoln University in 1999. Bruce leads the P&F R Vegetable and Onion research programmes with work that focus on developing profitable production and improved environmental outcomes for these crop production systems. He also leads work investigating the implications of plant and spatial variability for sustainability of production, improved yield and quality. His specific area of expertise includes: crop modelling, crop physiology, nutrient and water use, and production systems.
